Political self-conception
We are a group made up of individuals who have different connections to rural structures and struggles. The majority of us are young, White people who work in agriculture and/or come from rural areas. We see our agricultural activities and life in rural areas embedded in political contexts.
We want to strengthen our connections and bring together emancipatory voices from agriculture and rural areas in order to make struggles visible and overcome separations. In doing so, we do not want to focus on individual areas of political tension, but rather practice enduring contradictions and entering into conversation with each other on the basis of mutual respect and solidarity, as well as establishing and strengthening connections. Agricultural and rural struggles in Germany are embedded in a global context. We therefore consider it essential to include global perspectives and international struggles and to take different positions seriously.
We want to create a low-barrier space that provides access for everyone who wants to come. We are aware that people who are affected by sexism and/or racism in particular are more frequently exposed to violence and discrimination in rural areas. That is why racism, anti-Semitism, classism, (cis-)sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, esotericism, nationalist ideas, psychological and physical violence have no place at our meeting! We try to consider various barriers in the planning process (e.g. language, physical & psychological barriers, costs, etc. …). We are aware that we will not be able to eliminate some barriers, but will try to identify them and provide solutions if possible.
All areas of the meeting are non-commercial, self-organized and have an emancipatory claim. We can only achieve this if everyone feels responsible for helping to shape the meeting. The meeting will take place on an agro-ecologically cultivated area. This special place requires us all to treat the soil, water and ecology with care.

Pay attention on how much space you take up in situations, be considerate of others, be open to criticism. We all have different privileges and different experiences in our lives. Keep this in mind and let’s create an appreciative and error-friendly learning space for everyone. For us, this also means that we want to become aware of our patterns and rethink and dismantle discriminatory behavior based on age, origin, class, education, gender, faith, body and way of living and loving. We want tolerance and the willingness to listen and to meet other perspectives and realities of life with openness. This is the only way we can unite our struggles, show solidarity with each other and create a future worth living together!
Let’s create a joyful and caring gathering! 🙂
