About the location

The camp will take place in eastern Germany, more precisely in northern Saxony, on a sheep pasture with rows of fruit trees, adjacent to an old three-sided farm. Even though the fruit trees were only planted a few years ago, they have a long tradition there. Until 30 years ago, the area was farmed by the community with fruit and vegetables and many villagers still remember how they harvested the berry bushes every summer. Local farmers are currently reviving these old structures by grazing sheep and planting new fruit trees.
The site forms the basis of life for various people, animals and plants and it is very important to us to preserve the soil and the various ecosystems in the best possible way. This means avoiding compaction and interfering with the ecology as little as possible. We want to treat this place with appreciation and respect for what was and what is and we hope that you will support us in this, because it is a huge gift to be able to be here.

The last three decades have left their mark around the farm and the sheep pasture: The intensification of agriculture and the tripling of rental and purchase prices for arable land have led to ever larger farms and ever larger sub-areas. At the same time, hedgerows, rows of trees and flowering roadsides have disappeared, so that fields of maize and wheat now stretch as far as the eye can see.
However, there is always resistance in this landscape, against new logistics areas or bypass roads, and it is not the first time that resistance camps have taken place here. We look forward to welcoming people from the area and many people from Germany and other countries!
